The Moser pipe organ in the Abbey Church, a unique, beautiful and historically significant instrument, has now reached its 100th birthday.
In celebration of this important occasion, New Norcia and the Organ Society of Western Australia will present a day of music performances and talks highlighting the remarkable features and capacities of the instrument, and celebrating the history both of the organ and of musical culture within the monastery.
Performers and speakers will include New Norcia’s Fr Robert, John Beaverstock, Andrew Brown, Patrick Elms, and others. There will also be a special session for musicians, who will have the opportunity of exploring (and even playing) the historic Moser organ for themselves.
The day will include a wonderful lunch, as well as morning and afternoon tea.
